About Me

Scissors Cuts Paper
Anne Hendrick (Wexford), Maire O’Mahony (Cork), Lucy Sheridan (Dublin) and Fiona Chambers (Belfast) began working collaboratively in 2004. Since graduating from painting at NCAD in June 2006 they have stayed in regular correspondence, supporting and influencing each others practices using postcard art and the internet to communicate and discuss each others work. Each artist has a very distinctive and individual practice employing a variety of different media, comfortably moving across the fields of film, photography, drawing, painting and installation. However, they are drawn together by a similar aesthetic and sharing of interests. There is an overriding common sense of energy, play and simplicity, in constant tension with dark undercurrents.
